Dorm Style

What kind of dorm would you like?

So we all know that dorms can be the ugliest thing when you walk in. It might look like a jail, but you can transform it into something beautiful and new. 

So here are some tips and images to inspire you:

I really like how this dorm has a color combination. It also has a nice homey feel to it with the two sitting areas (a beanie bag is great to have). The decorations are well displayed and there's no clutter. The basket in the middle is great for a hidden storage space. The christmas lights is a trend that most college girls follow. It add a nice touch to the room, its not to much and over powering.

Need some privacy from your roommate and a place to read/study?

This loveseat is perfection. If you can't afford a really nice one, go to an army salvation store. A Goodwill that sells furniture is just as good, just make sure that there are no bedbugs or stains. You can always refurbish it if it has any stains. ~Something old turned into something new~

Here is the same great idea. It does not look like a boring dorm room desk, she gave it some personality. She has a unique accent chair (meaning the color choice).  The purple is a nice contrast from the rest of the space.  

This look reminds me of some type of sorority room.

Have you ever felt that you want a new style, find something that defines you?

Here are some tips to help you:

The summer time is the perfect time to find yourself. 

Style

Write down what kind of style that you would like to have and look on multiple online stores and pin them to your Pinterest board. Even create a Polyvore account and make a few outfits. (Like I did for my graduation outfit).

Don't discourage yourself by saying you can't wear this or that.

Are you the more rocker girl, punk, hip hop, urban, goth, skater, cali, school girl? Maybe mix different pieces together and make your own style. I advise you to buy timeless clothing first. Start with solid colors (black and white), then start adding colorful patterns.

Write them down on a few post it notes and post them in your binder, computer, bathroom mirror, car,  any where you can think of. It will remind you daily of how you want to be perceived.  

Practice and Practice, soon it will just become normal.

Instead of having your alarm saying ALARM, have it say:

YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL

YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE A GREAT DAY

YOU ARE INTELLIGENT

etc.

One step closer to College...

Graduation is near.... in exactly 2 months!!!

I got the news today that I am getting my cap and gown in a week! 

I have to admit it, I hate the color for the girls. It is suppose to be a gold color, more like a ugly yellow.  Yuck!!! The guys get to wear maroon, the color I really want to wear.

Anyways, I have a outfit already planned out, and was wondering what you think about it. I created this look on Polyvore.com.

   The dress is from ASOS; I wanted the dress to be simple, but still cute. The shoes are also from ASOS. The shoes are the Chelsea Ankle Boots, which I am dying to have. They are suppose to be very comfortable and easy to walk in. I paired it with some Rayband sunglasses, I have knock offs. And to add some color, I picked a mint neckless and my favorite black cherry lipstick. I did not want my gown to clash with my wardrobe. 

Now for the hair..... I have to wear my cap, so I was thinking a braid out for my natural hair or straighten my hair.

Well, since I'm not in college yet....

So, I'm not in college yet but.... Prom is near!!!!

What am I going to wear?!?!?!? So, I have already ordered my prom dress, but I am worried that the online store I ordered from is legit. I wanted a unique dress for prom; I did not want the typical prom dress that every girl will wear.

I did not want to be like "You are not wearing the same dress as me" (head roll)

So I have searched for months for the perfect dress. It's not about "Prom is going to be the best night of my life" kind of thing, but more like "I can't wait to look beautiful in this gorgeous dress".

I looked on the website etsy and found this beautiful little creature:

One thing to take into mind when you buy a dress online, look at the reviews. I can not stress that enough. There are a lot of scam artist out there, and I might of fallen for one. My dress is suppose to be at my door step by April 12!!!! Let's hope!!! Fingers crossed!

Kid Choice Awards 2014

So...yeah, I didn't watch the Kid Choice Awards but, that doesn't stop me from posting a few looks.
Some of these looks could go towards your wardrobe for a night with your girls.
I love looking at what the celebs are wearing!

Is that Sydney Park on the right from That So Raven!! 

She looks so grown up, but still has that attitude. 

She is rocking the look. It does not look to old on her, and the color block is in!!!

The girl on the right is Ryan Newman, she is also an actress. Her dress is ok, just ok. It looks a little to grown for her. Since her dress is so busy at the top, I would have had a up-do for the hair.

Ariana Grande, goes for a bright colored mini dress. She looks a little older compared to the grammy awards. I like the look and she doesn't have her hair styled half up and half down. Hallelujah!!!!!!! 

Yeah, I'm not really into the first two looks, but the third one can definitely turn into a day look.

I don't really care for this look, Zendaya could do a lot better.

Cleaning room for College

Cleaning.....Uh no thank you!!!

But it is something that we have to do. We can't bring everything to college with us!!!

Here are somethings to think about when you are cleaning your room:

• Don't try to do it all at once! (you will want to give up)
• Start in little sections
• Print out a list of what you need in college (most university's or colleges have a list on their site of what you can and can not bring)
• If you haven't used an item in your room for more than a year..... Throw it a way!!!
• If you are sentimental like me, take pictures of the items.... it last longer
• Throw away papers that you don't need 
• Throw away clothes that you know that won't fit you

I will post more when I am finished with cleaning mine.
